Eat at the Zoo
With three restaurants and numerous food stands, the Dallas Zoo offers a wide variety of dining options to satisfy every kind of eater.
Prime Meridian Café
The Prime Meridian Café is in the heart of ZooNorth, next to the Cat Green pavilion. This café includes ample indoor and outdoor seating that overlooks the flamingo pond. Food options include wraps, sandwiches, pizzas, Starbucks coffee, hand-scooped ice cream, and more. Eaters with dietary restrictions will find gluten-free, low-carb and vegetarian options. Don’t forget to pick up a reusable conservation cup featuring zoo animals and facts — it can be refilled for a discount at many Zoo restaurants!
Bantu Barbeque, is located between the mandrill habitat and Adventure Safari monorail station just inside the Wilds of Africa, and includes outdoor seating. This food stand is open seasonally, and offers authentic Texas Barbeque. All of our meats have their own house made seasoning and are slow smoked with local hard woods. Bantu Barbeque also features traditional Barbeque sides, draft beer, fresh brewed iced sweet tea, and Icee’s.
Eat with the lions in the Giants of the Savanna! Peer into the lions’ den through the floor-to-ceiling observation window while you’re dining on gourmet burgers and fries. An outdoor seating area overlooks the elephants in the Giants of the Savanna. Find the Serengeti Grill just inside the Giants of the Savanna.
Before heading into ZooNorth, stop by the Sweet Treats stand for soft-serve ice cream, cold drinks or a bag of popcorn. Sweet Treats, which is open seasonally, is located in the Breezeway between the Lemur Lookout and the Cedar Creek bridge.
Pack a picnic
Guests may bring their own food and drinks, although glass items, alcoholic beverages and lightweight, single-use straws are not permitted for the safety of our animals. Picnic tables and benches are available throughout the Zoo. No facilities are available for food or cooler storage, so that wheeled cooler is a good idea.
