Before heading into ZooNorth or through the tunnel to the Wilds of Africa, stop by Lemur Lookout to see a one-of-a-kind habitat featuring three different species of lemurs and Aldabra tortoises.
Lemur Lookout opened in 1996 as one of the first exhibits in the world to house multiple species of the Madagascar primates together. In 2016, three 250-pound Aldabra tortoises were added, making Lemur Lookout a unique, mixed-species habitat in the Dallas Zoo’s Entry Plaza.
Check out Lemur Lookout from the shaded, tree-level canopy near the Breezeway to ZooNorth, or spy the primates and tortoises from ground level on the stroller path to the Wilds of Africa. Who knows, maybe you’ll catch a lemur taking a tortoise for a ride!
*Aldabra tortoises are off exhibit through the winter months due to air temperature.
